ProSolv 50 PURE – Contains: Silicified Microcrystalline Cellulose NF, JPE/Co-processed Microcrystalline Cellulose and Colloidal Silicon Dioxide ChP (see below for description). This is a formula in which optimal compaction and decent flow are required. Not for use in chewables or sublingual’s due to taste. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NO LONGER A “PREMIX” PRODUCT AND YOU MAY ADD YOUR OWN EXCIPIENTS, if necessary (Magnesium Stearate and/or Stearic Acid), VITAMINS, BOTANICAL EXTRACTS AND OTHER NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS. Microcrystalline Cellulose is an easy flowing powder that adds bulk and weight to your pill mix. It offers strong bonding qualities while retaining high flowability, which ensures it is spread evenly throughout your mixture. As an inert substance, it won’t react with other ingredients. It is an all-round, beneficial ingredient that makes every part of the creation process easier.

THESE PRODUCTS ARE INTENDED FOR USE AS A BASE FOR BOTH HUMAN AND ANIMAL DIETARY, HERBAL AND/OR NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS.

ProSolv 50 vs. ProSolv 90: What’s the Difference?

Both ProSolv 50 and ProSolv 90 are silicified microcrystalline cellulose (SMCC), a commonly used excipient in tablet formulations. While they’re made from the same material, they’re designed for slightly different purposes.

  • The Key Difference
ProSolv 50 is optimized for stronger tablet binding
ProSolv 90 is optimized for better powder flow
  • Why This Matters (The main distinction comes down to particle size):
ProSolv 50 has smaller particles which creates stronger, more compact tablets
ProSolv 90 has larger particles which flows easier during manufacturing

When to Use Each One

  • Choose ProSolv 50 if you need:
    Better tablet strength
    Improved compacting ability
Support for low-dose or hard-to-compress formulations
  • Choose ProSolv 90 if you need:
    Better powder flow
    Smoother processing on high-speed equipment
More consistent tablet weight and die filling

So, if you want:

  • Tablet strength, go with ProSolv 50
  • Powder flow and processing, go with ProSolv 90

In Summary:  for many formulations, the choice isn’t strictly one or the other—some manufacturers even use blends of both to balance strength and flow.
