Our FDC powdered dyes are FOOD, DRUG AND COSMETIC GRADE and can be used anywhere a powdered coloring agent is desired. You can start with anywhere from .02 – 5 percent of the total volume and work upwards; however, start with a small amount as not much will be needed (and you can always add more), depending on the color desired. Colors can be mixed for unlimited possibilities! Our FDC dyes can be used in chocolates, dry cake mixes, tableting powders and supplements, and any other application where water is prohibited. Use sparingly as powdered colors may stain clothing, hands, or mouth. Here’s an example of how to make pink dye from red dye using our TITANIUM DIOXIDE: (these same ratios hold true with all of our FDC powdered dyes). NOTE: DRY INGREDIENTS ARE SOLD BY WEIGHT, NOT VOLUME!

Starter ratios (by weight)

To make a light pink: use 1 part red lake to 8-12 parts titanium dioxide

To make a medium pink: use 1 part red lake to 4-6 parts titanium dioxide

To make a dark pink (almost red): use 1 part red lake to 1-3 parts titanium dioxide
