Titanium dioxide (TiO₂) is a versatile white pigment and UV-blocking compound widely used in cosmetics, food, soap-making and for industrial applications. Use titanium dioxide to lighten our FD&C Dyes. Titanium Dioxide is a Food Grade powder (vegan and gluten free); however, do not use more than 1% by weight. It is the white colorant of choice for use in food products and soap-making, making your soap bright white. For food applications it is also referred to as Pigment White. Due to its outstanding light & heat stability, Titanium Dioxide is also used in many personal care products such as sunscreen, where it has the ability to absorb UV rays, thereby reducing the suns damaging effects.
